Our SUC Entrepreneur for the week is Oluyinka Fasanya of Precious Rubies Snacks.

SUC:
Can you give us a brief introduction about yourself?
Oluyinka:
Fasanya Oluyinka Omolabake Ayoola is my name. I am from Osun State. I am a microbiologist with a Masters degree in veterinary public health and preventive medicine. I am also a baker and caterer.
SUC:
How did you decide to take the entrepreneurial plunge?
Oluyinka:
I love working with my hands to make money so that was how I decided to plunge into entrepreneurship.
SUC:
Can you tell us about the first sale or contract you got as an entrepreneur? What was your reaction?
Oluyinka:
Wow. Ok. This was way back in school. I think I was in 200 level then. I was asked to cook for a town’s meeting. I was really excited though I was dealt with by inexperience and those who I asked to assist me. Though the gig flopped, I learnt, I have grown, I am still learning and I am still growing.

Tell us about one challenge you experienced as an entrepreneur and how you addressed the challenge?

Competitors and clients. It’s a challenge I am still facing and learning how to cope with

Oluyinka:
Persistence, determination, humility and walking with God are important for success.

Oluyinka:
